Laurie Bishop Jones
March 7, 1956 -- December 14, 2006

Laurie Jo Jones, age 50 of Nashville, TN, passed away at home Thursday, December 14, 2006 surrounded by her family. Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.
Laurie was born March 7, 1956 in Reading, PA. She graduated from Trinity High School, Washington, PA in 1974 and Harding University in 1979 with a BS degree in Nursing. She was an OB nurse at Vanderbilt University Hospital for 18 years, and then the proudest years of her life being the mother of her precious children, Lindy Cylene and Lance O'Neal Jones.
Also surviving are her husband, Ruel Jones, the love of her life; her parents, Richard & Nancy Bishop; and her beloved sisters, Olivia Gump and Betsy Kotora; her brother, Rich Bishop; and several nieces and nephews.
Laurie was a member of the Antioch Church of Christ, Antioch, TN.
Laurie will be dearly missed by her many, many friends and family.
I grew up going to church with her and her family. I remember being in Sunday School class when she was in the hospital (about 4 - 5 years old) having had spinal surgery to correct what they could at that time. One of the class teachers had been to the hospital and snapped a photo of her in a near full-body cast, and brought it to the class to look at. My Mom took me to visit her when she got home. The cast actually went from below her waist and wrapped around her forehead. Someone had "magic-markered" LAURIE front and center. She was always so cheerful about it all. Actually, she was nothing but cheerful ever!
